A & B Division Regulations

 

Player Restrictions:

 

      A Division:

·        Players must be at least 21 years of age or more.

 

      B Division:

·        The only preset player restriction is that the players be comparable with the level of play for this league.  All players that have been in this division in the past are being grandfathered into the B division.  Any new players that have not been rostered in the past are subject to movement at the Captain’s discretion.

 

Penalty Overview:

 

      A & B Division Both:

·        If any player receives (3) 2-minute minors in any given game, he is ejected for the remainder of the game.

·        If any player receives ANY (2) double minor & any major, he is ejected for the remainder of the game.

·        For any 5 minute major, the referee in chief and the involved team captains will evaluate the individual case.  There will always be a remainder of game, + 1 game suspension mandated by USA Hockey.

·        Any Player receiving a Ten-Minute Misconduct Penalty for Abuse of Officials during the last 10 minutes of the game shall be automatically suspended for their team’s next game. The on ice official must note the score sheet that this misconduct was for “Abuse”.  Ten-Minute Misconduct’s imposed for any other reason according to USA Hockey rules will not carry an additional game suspension. There shall be no appeal to this rule. EYHA strictly enforces the Zero Tolerance Policies of USA Hockey.

·        Any player receiving a total of (30) minutes of accumulated minors will result in a game suspension.

·        Any fighting (as called by the referees) will result in the following:

o       First offense – 2 game suspension

o       Second Offense – Season suspension without refund.

·        If a Player is issued a Game Misconduct penalty, he/she must sit the next game for his team.

·        Any Player that receives a Major and a Game Misconduct for Slashing, High Sticking, Spearing or Checking from Behind will be automatically suspended for 5 games. THERE WILL BE NO APPEAL TO THIS RULE. This again is a League not a USA Hockey Rule.

·        Player Suspensions shall be noted on the score sheet when served. Score Sheet should be marked with “Player name serving 2/5 Game suspension” etc. Failure to note on the score sheet shall not be considered as a game served. ALL SUSPENSION MUST BE SERVED.

·        Team Captains that allow a suspended players to play, shall be suspended themselves for the remainder of the season.

·        NO substitute players shall be allowed to play in any game. All players that allow an unrostered player to play shall be suspended for the remainder of the season. NO EXCEPTION. Goaltenders are permitted to fill in as needed. All goaltenders are allowed to substitute in either division.

·        Any player that receives a number of game suspensions that cannot be served in any one season shall be required to serve those game suspensions at the beginning of the following season.

·        Any Player that receives a Match Penalty for any reason, including but not limited to an “Intent to Injure” situation, shall not be permitted Registration in the league for a period of not less than One Year.
